favorite sayings...

Landry is talking and saying so much so I wanted to record just a few of my favorite things right now so I don't forget my favorite things. I am so behind on posting pictures but I promise once I stop working and Landry goes back to Tues/Thurs school I will catch up on those. These aren't interesting to anyone but family that doesn't get to hear Landry talk everyday but I had to record a few of my favorites for my own purposes.

"boo cows out barn today?" there are some cows that we pass every time we leave the house and he always wonders if they are out of the barn before we even can see them.

"two baby Cocoa's" Landry named baby #2 "baby Cocoa when I was 8 weeks pregnant and has stuck with that name ever since. The other day he was sitting in my lap and pointed to...well let's just say it wasn't my belly it was just above my belly and said "look mommy two baby Cocoa's!" Of course austin was dying laughing and I tried to not make a big deal about it but he continues to say that all the time now...and will sometimes even proceed to point to the "2 baby Cocoa's" when he is making this statement.

"I cakcle baby Cocoa Mommy"-he does this as he is laying on my stomach in the floor or in bed while we are playing and what he means by "cackle" is tackle. Poor baby Cocoa-I hope he comes out ready to defend himself b/c I think he is going to have to! :)

"I popped up mommy...I go see doctor donney"- we were driving down the road this week and his nose was stopped up so he decided he needed to go see Dr. Denny(who he calls Dr. Donney)-his pediatrician who he loves!

"Tawa Beph"-Landry has learned my name and will periodically call me by it at random times. The other day when he woke up from his nap I hear him yelling "Tawa Beph i get up!"

"Yanyee Autin" this is how Landry pronounces his name and I love hearing him say it!

"daddy come home me"- he will get on the phone with austin while he is at work and ask him to come home to him. This is so sweet but breaks my heart at the same time. He loves his daddy and always wants him to come play with him.

"two burd"-My granny will ask him who he loves and at the top of his lungs he will yell "TWO BURD" which is his way of saying "Sue Byrd"..as you can guess it she taught him this trick! :)

"I go Ray and Sue house- ride bota- see horse"-(he says this the exact same way every time)My austin and uncle Susan and Laray have a Kabota at their house b/c they have quite a bit of property. Their next door neighbor has miniture horses and Landry's favorite thing to do it ride on the kabota to go see the horses.

"I kiss baby Cocoa"-he loves to give the baby kisses throughout the day.

"Mommy what that??" this is his question for just about everything these days rather it's a noise he has heard or a building he has seen or just to fill the empty space of us not talking to him.

"No mommy-Bop it-that's my daddy. Unnertand(understand) me? No no!" This is what he said to me the other night on the way home for church as Austin and I were having a conversation without Landry. I don't think he was too happy about not being the center of attention for those few minutes! Whew! This little boy is going to have a hard time come September!

"oh mommy-that's pwetty!" This was the sweetest thing. I was getting ready one day and being pregnant I just don't feel my "prettiest" but Landry walked in without being prompted and looked at my outfit and said those sweet words to me. It made my day and made me feel "pretty" just thinking my son thought that about me and told me.

"Mommy I gonna pank you because you no talk to me that way"-this happens at least once a day now and the funny thing is he will say it when I haven't even raised my voice at him. Silly boy!

Love this boy!

I thought I would just share a few sweet photos that have been taken lately. Here's Evan and Landry on Evan's wedding day this past Saturday. I love the way you can see him smiling behind the water bottle. He could have been a good promoter for Evan and Catherine's wedding with this shot we got on Saturday. They had this laminated paper wrapped around water bottles that were served the day of the wedding for people to drink before the reception started to cool off from the 98 degree heat that day...what a great idea and what a sweet little boy! Showing off his boo boo he got on his knee about a week earlier. He knows it's there and even though it's healed and the scab is gone we still complain about our "boo boo hurting" and says "mommy kiss it." I love kissing those boo boo's and making them all better-being a mommy is the best job in the world! :)

Giving mommy kisses before the rehearsal dinner Friday night for Evan and Catherine's wedding. I love the way his little lost is scrunched up just like mine...his kisses are the best!
I love the way he loves his daddy and loves to cheese for the camera now. You would think he would have caught on to this a lot sooner but I guess being a boy he could care less about having his picture taken until the past few months. Now you can't get the camera out without him stopping what he is doing and smiling from ear to ear while saying "cheese" and then immediately wants to see himself on the camera and says "awww cute!"
I love the way he is such a big helper and loves to help mommy any chance he gets. This was him helping me with laundry one day. He would get the towels out of the dryer and drag them across the floor to my bed where I would fold them. All I can say is "your welcome" to his future wife! :)

busy busy boy

Life has been in the fast lane lately...and what i mean by that is Landry hasn't slowed down at all. I will attach just a few picture of what our every day life consist of. He is really big into golf right now and this makes his daddy very very happy-so much so Austin took one of his old clubs sawed off the shaft and put a handle on it so it was just the perfect size for him so now he has his very own REAL golf club(WATCH OUT SADIE!).

Landry is still completely in love with all animals but especially horses aka "hor", cows aka"boo cows" and rabbits aka "hop hop." So it works out perfectly that a good friend of ours is neighbors with my aunt and uncle and she has several animals on her land including rabbits, horses and miniature horses. One of the best parts of the trip is Landry getting to ride on the Kabota which he calls a "Bota." On of the miniature horses just had a baby that was the size of a small dog. We love going out to to see the horses and they are so gentle and good with Landry. One of them is so gentle and trained she will actually roll over like a dog when you tell her to and she is in the mood to entertain. She will also let Landry ride on her back which he loves. We enjoy going out there just as much as he does and it is great family time for the 3 of us.
These are just a few things that we do on a daily or weekly basis. The summer is already filling up and we are looking forward to whats to come.

When we aren't spending the day playing golf ball or on the farm playing with the horses you can bet that you will find us outside playing in his new swimming pool we got him even Sadie gets in and participates in the fun. This was money well spent and really helps cool off the heat from these upper 90 degree days we have been having lately. I have found that big boy underwear is the easiest and cheapest way to let him play in the water all day. He likes to go pee pee on the grass and trees so they are a lot easier to get off and on than swim diapers and swimming trunks. The best part is when we come inside for a quick break we take them off let them dry in the sun and are ready to wear again when we go back out. He may kill me one day for putting these pictures on here, but I think they are adorable. He loves playing in the water! I think he would stay in it all day if I would let him but with us not having any big trees in our yard that heat can get to this 5 1/2 month pregnant mommy after a few hours so we take several breaks for a nice cool drink in the shade.

He is changing and growing up so fast. I can't believe that in a few 4+ months he is going to be a big brother! This makes me very excited and very sad at the same time..am I weird for feeling that way?? I just can't seem to grasp MY baby being a big brother and not being the "baby" anymore. I will catch up on milestones very soon b/c I am very behind on those. Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful summer as much as we are so far and what's exciting is that it's just getting started! :)

Big brother to a BABY BROTHER!

We couldn't be happier to say that Landry is going to have a BABY BROTHER! Everything looked great at the appointment and the doctor said we were right on schedule for a September 30th due date-of course I wouldn't mind if he comes a little early like his big brother as long as he is ready and healthy. We had a "reveal party" at our house the night we found out and told the the family with a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake. It was such a fun way to celebrate with everyone. The only thing that could have made it better was if Martha, Chris, Nora and Wyatt were here to celebrate with us. I just love my entire family!
It's so funny the response I get from people about having another boy. I get the "sympathy" looks and comments of it not being a girl. The most common one is "Oh so are yall going to try one more time for a girl?" This is funny to me b/c to be completely honest I am SOOO THRILLED Landry is going to have a baby brother to play with and be close to. He is so rough and tough and another little boy in the household is right up his ally and ours! We still haven't decided on a name yet and we are also unsure if we are going to reveal the name until he is born. The reason for this is I really like different names and I'm scared I will let someone's response or reaction to my name I pick out sway my decision. I got some comments about Landry's name while I was pregnant that upset me (pregnancy hormones don't help much) so I'm not sure I want to do that again. If we do tell it will probably be to immediate family only. Who knows though-we will see if I can keep a secret that long! :)
Please continue to pray for this baby boy.

First Dental checkup

Landry went to the dentist for the first time last week and got his teeth cleaned. We headed down to Uncle Nat's practice and Aunt B got to clean his teeth.

I really talked it up before we got there and told him how Aunt B was going to tickle his teeth and get them really nice and clean like his toothbrush. He was very excited when we got there and couldn't wait to go for a ride in the chair.
He was such a good boy and looked so big sitting in the dental chair all by himself. I do have do say though, sitting in that chair didn't last long he ended up in her lap about 2 minutes into his cleaning and stayed there the rest of the time.
He did great though. I actually stepped out after getting a few pictures b/c as most mother's know you child will do better if your not right beside them.(Maybe I'm the only one??) But he got a great report and we will be going back in 6 months to get them cleaned again! Yay Landry! Your such a big boy and growing up so fast--slow down!

Hop Hop came to see Landry!

Landry was really into Easter this year. I think what helped contribute to this interest was we used to(yes that's past tense-she/he has since gotten smart and moved her home somewhere else) have a little bunny rabbit that lived in our bushes in the back yard. Landry has since named all rabbit's a "hop hop." Well every time we would go outside to play Sadie(our dog) would hunt that rabbit down from one side of the yard to the other until it ran out of the fence. The whole time she would be chasing it she would be barking a high pitched squeal/bark and at first it would scare Landry to death and he would start crying and run to me. However, after about the first 10 times he got used to it and would think it was funny. I do have to give Sadie props though-she would never hurt the rabbit b/c one day she actually got it cornered in a section of our fence and the rabbit couldn't get out and she just stood there nose to nose with that rabbit and stared at it. Whew! I was a little nervous that day b/c I was so scared she was going to hurt that poor sweet rabbit in front on Landry and I don't know how he would have taken that. So since then when we walk in the back yard he will put his hands up to his mouth and call for "pop......pop"(aka hop hop) waiting for it to come to him. So sweet. :) So hence our obsession with rabbits right now Easter came at a perfect time. He was very excited about "hop hop" coming to see him and all he kept asking for was "canny"(candy") and a "pish" (fish). So, as you guessed it....Hop Hop delivered on his wishes. He got smarties for candy and a beta fish and lots of other goodies...not to mention all the gifts from the grandparents. He looked so sweet Easter morning all dressed up in his little bunny outfit. He would randomly point to it during church and whisper "hop hop." I chose to not post a family picture this year of us b/c first of all they were all horrible of me and I just need a tan something awful and secondly, Landry just really didn't want to cooperate during our family picture time so non of then really turned out like I wanted or anticipated-but that's ok...at least I got a sweet one of him before church.

He had 3 different Easter egg hunts to participate in which has led to lots and lots of candy at our house. He was so funny during the hunt b/c he would get to an egg, sit his basket down, open the egg and start start eating the candy inside immediately instead of looking for more eggs. He is one blessed little boy to have a family that loves him like they do.

At church during Sunday school class we have been studying about the last week of Jesus life. The last few weeks we have been watching sections of the "The Passion" that Mel Gibson came out with several years ago. Let me just tell you...that is NEVER an easy movie to watch during the scenes where they are beating Jesus but to watch it on Easter, being pregnant and hormones raging, and having a son on my own now that movie just really pricked my heart Sunday morning and I starting bawling. I had to get up and leave the room b/c I was shaking uncontrollably. I just wanted to yell at the TV for them to STOP!! Stop beating my Savior-that's enough all ready!! I was able to compose myself enough to return to class by a constant reminder...that's not the end of the story. It didn't end with death for him...it ended with him being risen. I am more grateful this Easter than ever before that I serve my Lord and Savior and that he took on my burdens so Austin, me, Landry, baby #2, and all my family and friends can live with him one day if we live the life he called us to live. This statement doesn't seem to be enough but I have never meant it more..."Thank you God for Jesus!!" Hope yall had a Happy Easter b/c it was for me b/c Jesus raised from the dead!

Mule Day 2011

I am so late on getting this post uploaded. Let's just say I have had a few technical difficulites lately-which has postponed everything. So I apologize for my blogging absence.
I knew Landry would love Mule Day this year b/c he loves horses but pretty much anything that resembles an animal. I know pretty much everyone who will read this Mule Day sounds very redneck and such a strange day. I mean how eventful and exciting can it be to watch wagon after wagon being pulled by mules down the road for an hour?? And I won't argue with you...it is very redneck. But that's what makes me love it even more. It's a tradition and it's a good excuse to get dressed up in your best cowboy/cowgirl attire and go hang out with friends and family-not that we ever need an excuse or anything. :) I just love my little cowboy and his fake smile!

So with that being said...let's just start with Landry's special outfit just for this day. A local store here in town had these shirts hand made and of course the shirt wouldn't be complete without the cowboy hat and boots! :)
He absolutely loved the parade and seeing all the mules and horses ride by. He also loved getting to see Nana walking in the parade with out local state representative.
We had plans after the parade to go over to my Granny's house and have a cookout. After the parade he was so worn out..bless his little heart he couldn't even hold his head up.
It was less than a 2 mile drive and he couldn't stay awake. He was sound asleep before we got there. But it didn't last long. As soon as I layed him down on his pallet he raised his head up and said "Gengie's(Granny's) house-I go pay(play)." And so I just rolled with the punches and let him go play with all the guest. Later that afternoon, he crashed and took a 3.5 hr nap that I had to wake him up from b/c I was scared he wouldn't sleep that night. After his nap we headed to the park to walk around get some roasted corn on the cob and let Landry see the horses and mules up close. He was so funny b/c he would want you to hold him while you were touching the mule or horse, but he did not want to touch them or even get close. Overall, little fellow had a blast at Mule Day and we did too!
I loved the way it looks like he is tipping his hat! :)

Here was the whole gang this year. All you can see of Landry is the top of his cowboy hat. :)
