I knew Landry would love Mule Day this year b/c he loves horses but pretty much anything that resembles an animal. I know pretty much everyone who will read this Mule Day sounds very redneck and such a strange day. I mean how eventful and exciting can it be to watch wagon after wagon being pulled by mules down the road for an hour?? And I won't argue with you...it is very redneck. But that's what makes me love it even more. It's a tradition and it's a good excuse to get dressed up in your best cowboy/cowgirl attire and go hang out with friends and family-not that we ever need an excuse or anything. :) I just love my little cowboy and his fake smile!

So with that being said...let's just start with Landry's special outfit just for this day. A local store here in town had these shirts hand made and of course the shirt wouldn't be complete without the cowboy hat and boots! :)

He absolutely loved the parade and seeing all the mules and horses ride by. He also loved getting to see Nana walking in the parade with out local state representative.

We had plans after the parade to go over to my Granny's house and have a cookout. After the parade he was so worn out..bless his little heart he couldn't even hold his head up.

It was less than a 2 mile drive and he couldn't stay awake. He was sound asleep before we got there. But it didn't last long. As soon as I layed him down on his pallet he raised his head up and said "Gengie's(Granny's) house-I go pay(play)." And so I just rolled with the punches and let him go play with all the guest. Later that afternoon, he crashed and took a 3.5 hr nap that I had to wake him up from b/c I was scared he wouldn't sleep that night. After his nap we headed to the park to walk around get some roasted corn on the cob and let Landry see the horses and mules up close. He was so funny b/c he would want you to hold him while you were touching the mule or horse, but he did not want to touch them or even get close. Overall, little fellow had a blast at Mule Day and we did too!
I loved the way it looks like he is tipping his hat! :)
Here was the whole gang this year. All you can see of Landry is the top of his cowboy hat. :)
