A catch up of Landry's first 6 weeks of life

Really??!!! Is he really 8 weeks old today?? Austin and I were talking tonight and was saying how we can still hear the sounds of the delivery room, see the faces of the nurses taking care of me, and I can taste the wonderful taste of the very few ice chips I was given in the delievery room.( For the record ice never tasted so good! haha!!) It just feels like he was just born yesterday! Where does time go?? Oh yea that's right it goes into feeding, changing diapers, rocking, bouncing, and sleeping. What was I thinking?? :) I really can't believe he is 8 weeks old. I feel like in a way I am in denial about it because it just doesn't seem possible. However, I can say these past 8 weeks have been the BEST and most rewarding weeks of my life. I have enjoyed every single second!!
I wanted to post a few pictures to catch up on Landry's first 6 weeks of life. These are just a few of my favorites that were too cute to pass up- so I thought I would share them with everyone else. I couldn't figure out how to do a slide show application on here so I posted them one by one. Enjoy! :)
I also update the previous blog below. So take a peek at it and the new pictures added to it. From now on I am going to try to keep these blogs in order but since I am just starting I am playing catch up for right now.

Tracking- 7 weeks 6 days

Landry is growing like a weed. I am totally amazed at how fast is growing. He is going to be 8 weeks old on Tuesday!! I can't believe that! It still seems like I should be in the hospital having him! However on the other hand I don't remember what my life was like before I had him. He is such a joy to Austin and I. His big milestone lately has been "tracking" his fish that go round and round while he is in his swing. He LOVES watching them. I was in the bathroom getting ready the other day and I thought what sounded like him laughing. So of course I go running in the living room not wanting to miss anything he does and sure enough he is laughing at himself while watching the fish. I guess he is so proud of himself for watching them that he gets tickled at himself. It is precious to watch! I forgot to write last week so to catch up Landry made his first BIG appearance to public last week. "Byrdie" and "Dad-O" got the whole family (all 12 of us) tickets to Cirque du Soleil for Christmas. So we all went out to eat and then went to the show. I will admit I was really nervous at how Landry would do at the show b/c of all the loud music and bright lights. But boy was I wrong. He was a complete angel! He didn't cry one time thoughout the whole show. He was totally enthrawed by the music and lights. In fact he was awake 3/4 of the time(2 hours) and then finally gave up the fight and fell asleep the rest of the time on Aunt Baleighs shoulder. He goes to get his 2 month shots tomorrow- so we will see who cries more- me or him! I am not looking foward to them at all but to look on the bright side I don't think they could be any worse than the IV or spinal tap they did on him in the ER that one night so at least I sorda know what to expect.

Aunt Martha and Cousin Nora came in to visit for a few weeks today. It was their fist time to meet Landry. Nora wasn't too sure what to think of him at first due to her being really sleepy b/c of the flight from Wisconsin. Landry and Nora are looking forward to playing together over the next 2 weeks! We are looking forward to hanging with Martha and Nora and will post pictures later this week.

This is a picture of Nora and Martha meeting Landry for the first time. Nora wasn't sure what to think of him at first but she is slowly warming up to him. Which this might be good practice for her since she has a brother or sister coming in October! :)

We got the idea from Martha and Chris to take a weekly picture of Landry. Here is his 8 week old picture. What's ironic is that we got to take a picture with Nora when she was 8 weeks old and here for her baby shower that I threw for Martha.

Landry's First Blog- 6 weeks and 2 days

I wanted to start this blog so that I could occasionly write down my thoughts and progression of Landry in our life. I wish I would have started it the day we brought him home from the hospital but better late than never right?? Today Landry is 6 weeks and 2 days old. We started the day off going to the hospital to have a few test ran on his kidneys and bladder. Last week Landry started running a fever and turns out the source of infection was a urinary tract infection. The doctors wanted to make sure his kidneys and bladder was formed and functioning correctly. Thankfully with many prayers lifted up- everything is fine and working great! God truely is AMAZING and Landry has been such a blessing in our life. I never knew what love I had in store for this precious little boy. It's so hard to believe that he is already 6 weeks old. He is growing up so fast. This week he has really got the "tracking" thing down pat. We will sit him in his swing and he will follow the fish round and round. It is absolutely precious! Watching his brain grow and develop is amazing. I love him more than I thought was ever possible!

Landry attended his first of many mule day's this past week....check out the boots aunt baleigh bought him before he was even born to wear to mule day! She knew they would be too big but they were just too cute to pass up! He ate and slept through the whole parade so he didn't get to really appreciate it all! haha
