10 month Milestones

Landry is such a good natured little boy. We have always enjoyed him because he is so much fun lately- he is really starting to interact with us and has so much energy and developing his personality!

Here are just a few things he is doing now at 10 months:
* Letting go and standing up on his on with no support for a few seconds at a time(I think we are going to have a walker soon!)
*He will now take a few VERY fast steps toward someone if they are a few feet away...I'm not sure I actually consider these his "first steps" but he is SO close!!
*his new favorite word is "Ah-da"- we have no idea what this means but it's so cute
when he says it- he also says dadadada, mom mom mom mom, and deeee (which we consider Sadie!
*Clapping his hands when we say "YAAAAY!!"-this is so sweet!!
*Will put his hand to his mouth to blow kisses
*His daddy taught him how to give "high-fives" last week while we were shopping at
Opry Mills-this is a fun trick now! :)
*Still sleeping between 9-10 hours a night
*Taking 2-3 naps a day anywhere between 1-2.5 hours long
*Crawling and pulling up on everything
*He will now do the baby sign language for "more" when eating- however when we ask him if he wants a "drink" he just looks at it instead of signing for it-O'well at least he knows what we are saying.
*Loves to open and close drawers, doors and anything else he can move(yes this has led to smashed fingers poor thing

*Loves bath time!! He ends up giving us a bath by the time we are done b/c he splashes water everywhere. !)

*Loves ALL food-especially cheese, meats or fruits-OK lets just say he loves all of them!
*Learned his voice and can now scream out-most of the time it's for no reason at all
*He can now throw a fit(OH BOY THIS STAGE ALREADY!!??). While doing this he does one of two things he either slings his head back and closes his eyes while crying - or he will sit down Indian style and lean forward almost as if he is folding himself in half. Now that's talent! ha ha! :) WHEW i think we have our work cut out for us- I guess what goes around comes around!
*likes to sing himself to sleep while you are singing to him-so sweet and really hard to not laugh at while trying to get him down for a nap!
*as long as you say "AHHHHH" he will say it back at you the same time you are saying it. This little boy really likes to sing!!
*He LOVES going to cradel roll on Sunday Mornings!! I first started taking him when he was 7 months old and is WORN out during Sunday lunch and usually naps right through it. (These pictures are taken on his 2nd Sunday in class so they are several months old but have been meaning to post them ever since)

These last few pictures are pretty old but I finally got my mother's memory card and was able to download several of her pictures she has taken of Landry and thought these were just a few that were too cute not to share with everyone.

We need a new house!!

The title of the blog says it all....we need a 2nd house after all of Landry's toys he got for Christmas! What a blessed little boy he is. He had a wonderful first Christmas and I think it was memorable for Austin and I than it will be for him. It's so fun getting to see Christmas through your childs eyes(even though he enjoyed the bows and paper just as much as the toys.)
We were very excited that Martha, Chris, Nora, and Wyatt came down and we were able to see them every day they were here and have several play dates- even though those play dates consited of Wyatt sleeping or eating, Landry following Nora around and Nora doing what she does best which is just playing and talking up a storm. We had fun with them and enjoyed getting to meet our nephew for the first time.
As a side note Landry also turned 10 months on Christmas eve.( I will have to post all the milestones he is now doing in a post of it's own-and some pictures to go along with it!)
Here is a quick run down of all our stops we made to celebrate during the week: We started off the festivites by goig to the Simmons family Christmas on December 19th and we didn't slow down till after Christmas. We then celebrated Christmas with Nana, Pops, Martha and Chris a little early so Martha and Chris could head back to Wisconsin to celbrate Christmas in their own house. We then went Byrdie and Dad-o's house on Christmas even afternoon and then my Granny's that night. Christmas day morning we opened presents as a family and from Santa and then went to the Thompson's side Christmas that morning. Oh I can't blieve he is 10 months old-it really makes my stomach hurt thinking about MY BABY being 10 months old. However, he is more fun now than ever! We had a WONDERFUL Christmas and are a VERY blessed family! Thank you all for being part of our life and making us who we are today! Here's a picture of Landry in front of all his stuff her got from Santa Claus-Santa did it small this year b/c the granparents/aunts and uncles hooked him up so Santa really couldn't compete! :) You can tell he is still a little sleepy.
Our family portrait on Christmas Eve-He celebrated his 10 month old birthday on Christmas Eve.
I love this picture of him b/c his face explains it all-haha! These are just a few of the presents he got from Byrdie,Dad-O and Aunt Baleigh and uncle nathan.
He was enjoying a bow more than his toys-that's a baby's 1st Christmas for you! :)
This is Landry's official 10 month old picture we just didn't put a sign in front of him. My little Santa! :)

I think this is the best picture I have ever gotten of them 3.

Here is a picture of Nora and Landry and Landry and Wyatt. It was a little difficult to get a picture of all 3 of them but I think we finally mananged the night before they were leaving-unfortunately we didn't have our camera that night so I will have to upload it later.

Here is Landry with his cousin Chole in her santa outfit-she has grown so much since Thanksgiving she really hit a big growth spurt. Her and Landry are just about the same size now.

Here is my FAVORITE present I got for Christmas- Austin gave me a 20x24 canvas print of us on our wedding day in front of OakLawn where we got married!!! I was so excited that I balled my eyes out. He did an awesome job picking it out it would have been the EXACT one I would have picked out if I had my choice. I have been wanting one since we got married but due to the expense of it when we were newlweds it was out of the question-and then we had Landry and as most mothers are- I would rather spend my money on him than myself so I hadn't mentioned it since we found out I was pregnant so I thought it would be 10 years before I got one. It is perfect and looks amazing on our mantel. Thank you Austin for such a wonderful present and for being such a wonderful husband to me these past 3 1/2 years!

9 month check up stats

Well I took Landry to the doctor last week and here are his statistics for height and weight:
weight-19lbs and 10 oz (25th percentile)
height-28 inches(25 percentile)
head circumference-46cm(75th percentile)

Dr. Denny asked me if he was eating ok and liking all different types of food and the answer to that question is YES!!! He eats all the time and love everything we give him! There is nothing this little boy won't eat. He said he is perfect and healthy as long as he is eating he will catch up. He then made the comment about his head circumference that "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree b/c he is his father's son after all!" HAHA! Austin and I have both laughed about that several times and we will just rub his sweet little head! :)

We have been battling at the end of last week and all weekend and he seems to be on the mends so I haven't had a good opportunity to take any good pictures this week! He is feeling much better and doesn't sound like darth vader(as austin's said) anymore when he breaths. I sure hope it's completely moved out by the middle of the week when cousin nora, cousin wyatt and martha and chris come in town! We haven't seen them in 7 1/2 months!!

Bubble Bath and a Fun Ride

Landry has his first ever bubble bath today. I think you can tell by these photos that he loved every minute of it. IF you notice the bubbles on his chin I did not put those there as a gotee- they are there because he was eating the bubbles and some missed his mouth. Thankfully we were't hiccuping bubbles the rest of the day so I don't guess they hurt him! :) What a joy he is to me!

Landry loves his walker-and I have to say I don't think Sadie minds it too much either. Amber actually put Sadie in there with him and she just rode around our house with him like she was on a Sunday stroll. It was so funny and had us laughing histerically for several minutes! What a sweet boy and a VERY good natured dog!
