See I told ya...

I told you I was going to do better at posting and so far so good. :) We went to the lake for 2 nights as a quick get away for Memorial Day weekend. It's always so nice to get away for a bit and have a change of scenery. The boys love going down there as much if not more than Austin and I, which makes for a great trip all around.
Landry is very blessed with a GREAT memory. I'm not just saying this to brag about my child but I am very serious. He remembers things that Austin and I have forgotten about and we have to think about it before we remember them. For example: When I told Landry thursday morning that we were going to the lake that night he said "mamma we have to go get some "woms"(aka: worms) so I can go "pishing" with daddy again." Seriously...he remembered going fishing with Austin last year at the lake! I was impressed b/c he's only 3! He also saw a hay bale of hay the other day and asked me "momma you want to go get more pictures together by that hay?" He remembers us taking my maternity pictures together over 10 months ago! I mean I know I"m his mamma and I am naturally impressed with things he does that no one else finds amazing but for him to only be 3 years and 3 months and to have this memory I am impressed..and furthermore this just shows me he knows he is suppose to obey and he doesn't "forget the rules" as often as he says he does.

Summer...so far

Oh how I have missed keeping everyone in the loop with our life here lately. I am making a public statement that I promise to do better at updates no matter what it takes! :) Ok now that I have to confess yall have to hold me to it and if I start slacking email me and let me know...I need to be held accountable. Well we are off to a great summer so far. Lochlan got his first tooth the Monday after Mother's day... 4 days later decided he was ready to roll... 2 days after that he got another tooth and this time it was one on top. So now we have one on the top right and one on the bottom right. And let me tell you about 4 more are going to pop through any day. He has the little white lines and gums under 4 more areas. Bless his little heart I can tell they are bothering him so bad. :( When we were at the doctor last week I expressed my concern that he wasn't rolling very good yet but the doctor assured us that he just "had a lot of weight to throw around" (yes those were his exact words! ha!) He weighed 23lbs at his appointment last week and Landry weighed in at 32lbs. There is only a 9 lb difference b/t my 2 years and 7 months apart precious boys. The very next day he decided it was time to roll. So now he is rolling from him tummy to his back. He get's so close to rolling from his back to his stomach and works and grunts so hard when he is trying to do it so I predict a few more weeks and he will have that mastered too. I am clinging to every thing he does b/c now I know how fast this precious time goes by. I still feel like Landry should be learning to roll over and getting his first tooth. :( So let's catch up on a few things first..shall we? Landry started playing in a soccer league 7 weeks ago called Tiny Toes. We thought this would be something he would absolutely love since he loves ALL sports but especially after we saw his love for watching his daddy play in church league basketball. He has done great and has actually scored a few goals but to be honest I think he enoyed watching Austin play basketball more than he likes playing soccer. It's so funny b/c 30 minutes of the hour game they are "warming up, playing tag, and just being silly. And I'm not sure what I love more...the shin guards that look huge on him or the drink breaks that consist of sippy cups. He has had a good time playing and it's been a joy to watch him play and it gives us a glimpse of what we have to look forward to in the future if he decides to play sports(which i will be VERY VERY surprised if he doesn't)!
In April we took a long weekend trip with Austin's sister and her family to St Louis. It's always so good to get the kids together and let them play and rejuvenate their relationship and ours for that matter. We miss them so terribly bad and wish we could blink our eyes and get them to Tennessee with us! But since that isn't going to happen we have decided we were going to make this a yearly tradition. We love the city of st. Louis and all it has to offer especially for kids the options are endless. We took the kids to the FREE yes I said FREE zoo. Usually when you hear the words FREE you think ripoff. HOwever, this was the BEST zoo I have every been to other than the San Diego zoo with my family when I was little. Other than the cold weather(yes us tennesseeans are whimps. Since the west are use to that weather-or much colder they handled it like champs) it was a prefect day. The kids had a blast and the exhibits were very well thought out b/c they were very shallow but long which allowed you to be very close to the animals and you could see them no matter where you stood to look at them. We were there for several hours and still didn't see all the animals it had to offer.
We also went to the magic house which is a hands on childrens museum. Let's just say that us adults had as much fun if not more fun than the kids here! Such an amazing museum and very interactive.
Then this leads us to our last adventure San Antonio. Austin had to go out there to do some business the Monday after Mother's Day. I got the bright idea that I should bring the boys on a plane by myself and meet him down there on Wednesday and us have a little family vacation. Yes I know crazy idea right?! Well let's just say both boys were as good as gold the whole flight. When my dad dropped us off at the airport and I saw him driving off my heart started beating fast and I said to myself "what was I thinking and what have I done...come back daddy...come back!" But that was my only freak out moment. Thankfully, security was a breeze and TSA was very helpful and considerate. Once we got on the plane it was funny b/c everyone avoided us like the plague except for one sweet older man who not only got up and gave me his seat 2nd row from the front but also helped me with my bags and talked to me and the boys. But it was like a light switch b/c as soon as we landed EVERYONE and their mamma wanted to talk to me and told me how good my boys were. ha! Once we met up with Austin at baggage claim I was finally able to take a deep breath and exhale. I DID IT! I braved security line and check point, a 1 hour wait, 2 bathroom trips, entertaining for 1 hour before the flight and a 2 hour 20 minute flight ALL BY MYSELF! Let's just say I was a little proud of myself b/c this is coming from the mamma that has only braved 2 walmart trips in the past 8 months with both boys by myself. :) On Wednesday when we got there we went to the room and let Landry play in the "new house." This is what he calls all hotels/condos/ect. when we go on vacations.:) He jumped back and forth on the beds(hey boys will be boys-do't judge), played in the window looking out over downtown San Antonio, and explored every last nook and craney in the room.
Then it was time for dinner so we walked out the back doors of the Grand Hyatt and jumped on a river boat to go up stream. It was a nice relaxing night and very laid back.
On Thursday we took the boys to sea world and had a blast. We got there when the gates opened at 10 and didn't leave the park till they closed the doors behind us at 5. We all had a blast and both of the boys had as much fun as we did. The whale show was a favorite and we actually went to both of the shows they offered b/c we enjoyed it so much we wanted to see it again.
Landry rode a few rides and really enjoyed them all but the kiddy roller coaster. He wasn't big on that ride b/c when it slowed down his head slung back and hit the back of the seat. So needless to say when it came time for Austin and I to get our fix in and ride some roller coasters ourselves he boo hooed the whole time b/c it scared him that we were going to get hurt also. While at Sea World he saw a little boy getting his face painted like spiderman and asked if he could get his face painted. Sure why not! We are on vacation afterall and who doesn't like to get spoiled while they are on vacation. When it came his turn he chose to be a leopard and let me just say he is the cutest little leopard I have ever seen! :) He loved it and walked around the park roaring at everyone he passed all day.
Lochlan was such a trooper all day and rode in the stroller the whole time unless we were holding him during a show. I looked down one time and he had fallen asleep sitting up and had literally slumped overThe boys were WORN out when we were leaving the park.
We rode on the river boat every single night to and from dinner on the river walk. Landry loved this part and he enjoyed looking for turtles and fish in the water-which surprisingly they had a lot of. It was a great trip and we all had a blast. Our family battery is now recharged. On the way home Austin and I talked about how much fun we had and how we can't wait to take more trips together as a family just we had the vacation time to do it and unlimited funds to do it with! :)

A little of this a little of that...

Well it's been a long time since I have gotten a good post in about my two sweet boys. I know Lochlan is going to feel so neglected one day b/c I have documented anything on him like I did Landry but there's a reason for that...i have two precious boys to tend to now and not enough hours in the day.
Here are a few milestones on sweet Lochlan: Sitting up unsupported At his 6 month appointment he weighed 20lbs 11oz and was 27-1.4 inches long(yes people he is a big boy!) That is 90th% for his weight and 75th% for his length. He is such a sweet gentle boy He smiles ALL the time and at anyone!! He is now sleeping through the night He still take 3 naps a day He Loves his pacifer He is sitting up unsupported and has been since he was 5 months old He had rolled over only a handful of times but the dr said he isn't worried about it b/c "he has a lot of weight to throw around." haha! Landry milestones: Loves his balance bike that byrdie and dado got him for his 2nd birthday Loves puzzles Such a good big brother and loves to make Lochlan smile and laugh Loves all types of sports and is currently playing soccer Loves to eat yougart, cheese, chocolate milk(this is a special treat), strawberries, apple juice I love my two precious boys and I am so glad I am their mother!

6 month and 3 year old stats/ milestones

So I feel a little silly for not posting more here lately. However I did want to put a few pictures on here. Although most of the pictures are now outdated I still wanted to include them. Maybe one of these days I will get back on the band wagon and do better about posting.
Just a few stats and info on Lochlan: he is now 6 months old, sitting up by himself unsupported, rolling over from his belly to his back, he weighed a whopping 20lb 14 oz, 27.25 inches long at his appointment on Tuesday. He is such a happy boy and will flash a heart melting smile at anyone, he is a BIG mamma's boy, loves eating all types of baby foods, he gets up once a night to eat and goes right back to sleep, He usually sleeps 6-7 hours in one big stretch, naps like a champ. Landry is such a good big brother and LOVES Lochlan to death, he will have his first soccer game on April 7th, he weighs 31 pounds and is 37.5 inches tall, loves to play basketball, soccer, and monster trucks. His favorite food is hot dogs and cheese, capri suns and chocolate milk. He likes little einsteins, toy story and lion king.

Slow Down Time!

Is it me or is time going by faster each year!? Is it really 2012? Do I really have a 2 year 10 month old and a 3 month old?? Am I really old enough to have 2 children? Have I really been married for 5 years 6 months? These are just a few things that when I sit back and think about them they just don't seem possible. Time is flying by faster each day and sometimes I feel like I don't have time to sit back and catch my breath and enjoy each moment like I should. It never fails that each time we are in public some lady walks up to me and makes the comment "Oh honey enjoy this time b/c it goes by so fast and you will want them back at this stage again one day. " While I know what she means by that statement I also want to ask her if she remember how hard this stage was as well. I saw this blog post a friend of mine listed and as I read it out loud to Austin we were both dying laughing b/c it was so true and captured my feelings exactly. Please read this:(you may have to copy and paste this link) http://momastery.com/blog/2012/01/04/2011-lesson-2-dont-carpe-diem/
I have been the mamma with a screaming 2 year old in the buggy at the checkout counter before. I really do try to enjoy each day with my two precious boys to the fullest b/c I know I will want them back young again. So from now on I am going to capture those "Kairos" moments and keep pushing on being the best Christian mother I can be to these two precious boys b/c time really is flying by me!

*I will post a christmas blog soon with pictures-i promise*

Catching up

Oh these two sweet little boys steal my heart more with each day that goes by. Just a little catch up on Lochlan. He is such a sweet laid back baby and smiles all the time. I am SO thankful for that! He sleeps 5-6 hours at a time each night and when he wakes up he eats and goes right back to sleep. He is now holding his head up without any assistance and just this past week he has discovered his sweet precious perfectly formed hands and chuckled when being tickled. He loves to sleep with his hands by his face. I love watching him just stare at amazement at them-it's so precious. He is a VERY big mamma's boy and loves to snuggle and always has since he was born. I'm not going to lie-I love this! Landry never was a big mammas boy even as a baby. He was happy and content with whoever he was with-that's not the case with this little boy. Don't get me wrong-he is a happy baby but if he is crying as soon as I get him in my arms even if I do the same thing someone else was doing to try to sooth him he stops crying. He is a BIG boy and is already in 6 month clothing even though he is 3 months old. He weighed 15 pounds at his 2 month appointment and was 23.5 inches long. I love the way he stares in my eyes and I love this sweet baby more with each breath he takes.
Landry is such a good big brother. He loves Lochlan so much and is always taking good care of him and wanting to hold, kiss and hug him. He has done AMAZING with this big change in his life-much better than I anticipated him doing! Since he can't pronounce his "L's" he calls him "Baby Wockin" and will sometime still refer to him as "baby coco." He is really into any kind of ball right now rather it be basketball, football, basketball, soccer. Just give that kid a ball and he is happy. He loves life more than anyone I have ever seen and his love and joy is contagious and spreads throughout our household. He has a BIG sweet tooth and loves anything with sugar but especially chocolate, jelly beans, and gummy fruit. But he is also very good at eating fruits. His favorites are apples, strawberries and mandarian oranges. He weighed 30 pounds and was 36" tall last month at the doctors office. He naps for 2-3 hours and gets up between 6-630 every day no matter what time he goes to bed. He is also really testing his boundaries with us right now and trying to see where the line is at with a lot of things. Guess that goes along with the age?! He is talking in full sentences for several months now and has been 100% potty trained since August and his imagination is growing every day. We have had two "mommy, daddy, Landry dates since Lochlan was born so the both of us could give Landry 100% attention. The first one we made a gingerbread house together and the most recent one we took him to the movies to see the chipmonk movie. He did much better in the movie than I thought but I have to say I don't think we would have made it through without the big bowl of popcorn and "white coke" (this is what Landry calls sprite-which he only gets on a special occasion). I love these two precious blessings more than I ever thought was possible to love someone! So excited to see what the future holds for them and our family!

Loving Life!

To say that I love life right now would be an understatement. I love having 2 precious boys and the joy that they both bring every day is amazing! Lochlan is growing so fast and is such a big boy! At his 4 week check up he had grown 2 inches since birth! He is now 7 weeks old and probably weighs around 13lbs! He has recently started smiling at us but I have yet to capture it on camera. He is a mammas boy! He also loves to be around people. If you walk out of the room and leave him by himself for more than a few minutes he will let you know he doesn't like it. he sleeps GREAT and has since he was a newborn! He usually gets up once around 3-4am to eat and goes back to sleep till his big brother comes in and wakes him up in the morning around 630-700. He has even had a few night where he sleeps all night long. I don't think I ever experienced more than 2 hours of sleep at a time with Landry so this is a new ball game for me and let's just say I LOVE getting sleep! He is such a sweet baby and big brother Landry just loves him to pieces. He is always loving, kissing, rubbing on him. However, he only does this at home-for some reason he hardly ever does this in public when other people are around. I love my boys to pieces and life is only going to get better.
When Lochlan was just 1 week old he had some special visitors come into town to visit him all the way from Wisconsin. What a joy it was to spend some time with Martha, Nora and Wyatt. Grandma also came in for a few days to see all 4 of her great-grandchildren. We always love it when when she comes to visit! We stayed very busy while they were in and looking back I don't know how I didn't just totally crash from going non-stop for an entire week while juggling life and adjusting to two little ones. I wanted to share a few sweet pictures that were captured during their visit. I love getting all the cousins together to spend time with each other-I just wish we could do it more often.
