He can grow some hair! :)

Here is a few pictures of Landry throughout his newborn stage till now with all his different hairstyles. It's funny to look at how it was so thick and dark and now 8 months later he has a full head of blonde hair.

8 month Milestones

Here are just a few things that Landry is now doing at 8 months:
*loves his mommy!! Landry has really taken up with me in the past few weeks. It's hard for me to be in the same room with him when others want to hold or play with him now b/c if he sees me he wants me! I have to say I really like this...I think it's so sweet! :)
*Has 4 teeth (2 on top and 2 on bottom and has another one about to come in on the top any day now!)
* Sleeps 8-9 straight hours at night- he will nurse and go back to sleep for another 1-1.5 hours so he is getting anywhere between 9-10.5 hours of sleep a night now. This is a HUGE milestone for us!!
*LOVES his walker! I know all the books say to not get these due to safety but I keep a good eye on him when he is in it and Landry absolutely loves it!
* Went to the park for the first time ever last week and loved the swings!
*Has a little temper on him and is a very determined little boy. He knows what he wants and he wants it now! The determination could be a good thing one day as long as we channel it in the right direction.
* Crawling on his hands and knees. Every now and then he will get tired and go back to the army crawl b/c he can make more ground.
* He has his first ear infection right now and is on antibotic for it. The doctor did however brag on how healthy he was. This was our first "sick" visit to the doctor since he was 3 weeks old when he was running a fever. I have to say that is pretty good-we have made it 7 months with no doctor visit!
* At his doctor visit he weighed 18 lbs and 11 ounces with his diaper and clothes on. This is in the 19th percentile. So Landry is actually pretty small for his age! (Can you believe that baby born in Indonesia weighs 1.5 lbs more than Landry as a newborn!!?? CRAZY!)
*He is very observant of everything!
*He still has a head full of blonde fuzzy hair(duck fuzz) and big bright blue eyes-thy are so beautiful!
*He cam go from a sitting to crawling position with ease!
*Loves to pull up on anything he can get his hands wrapped around-especially his crib and my pants leg. As soon as he wakes up he immediately pulls up on his crib.
* He takes around 3 naps a day anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours- he is very inconsistent-but hey I'm not complaining b/c he is sleeping through the night! :)
*Anything that is in the floor ends up in his mouth- he is a little billy goat!! This makes me want to take my shoes off as soon as I walk into the house! :)
*We are still making strides to get along with our car seat. We have more good days than bad days now.
* He is very ticklish- EVERYWHERE! I love to hear him laugh- it truly makes my heart smile!
*He can maneuver his walker anywhere he wants to go-even in our bedroom closet!
*Like to open and close the kitchen and bathroom drawers
*He goes to cradle roll during Sunday morning class and Wednesday nights now and LOVES it. He is so worn out after church and is sleeping right through Sunday lunch.
*He can feed himself puffs all by himself(he has actually been doing this for about a month now. He loves puffs!

I know there are so many more things he is doing that I feel like I am leaving out but I guess covers the majority of his changes this past month.

Fall Time~!

I have a lot to blog about so hold on tight and I will take you through our last several weeks.

Well we have officially moved into our new home-hence the not blogging in a while so we have been a little busy! Landry has changed and learned so much in the past month I hope I remember everything I want to write about! He now has 4 (YES 4) teeth!! 2 on top and 2 on the bottom! The day after his 8 month old birthday the top ones finally broke through!! I don't know who was more excited me or Landry! :) Sorry for the crying picture but it was the best one I could get of his bottom teeth!
He is also pulling up on everything now!! He will even let go( i think by accident) and of couse come tumbling down but I think we are going to have an early walker on our hands. I will be very suprised if he isn't walking by Christmas-but don't get me wrong I am not wishing for this. It takes all my energy all day just to tame a crawler much less a walker! Here is a really cute picture of Landry getting into Sadie's food and water bowl. I looked up and he had tipped her water all over himself. Once or twice I have caught him as he has been taking his hand toward his mouth with a fist full of dog food! YUCK!! However, I can see where he would think it's for him b/c her food is about the same size as his puffs he eats. haha! Cute liitle boy! Sadie had to come check out the damage in this picture. haha! Here are several other pictures of him crawling around and OVER things these past few weeks. You can tell tell he is all boy b/c the higher or the more challenging the better!

Thankfully Landry is sleeping sooooo much better!! WAHOOO Landry! I feel like a new person finally getting to sleep through the night(with an exception of me going in there to check on him and cover him back up). He will go to bed anywhere between 7:30-9:00 and sleep 8-9 hours and nurse and go back to sleep for another hour and a half. Let me tell you- this is the most sleep I have had in 8 months and it feels great. But I did learn sleep is important but you can go on a lot less than you think you can. Here are some really cute pictures of him sleeping. He always puts his cute little bottom straight up in the air. I was brave enough to take some pictures after he went down for a nap one day.

Happy Birthday DadO! He turned 50 last week and Landry got his first taste of buttercream icing (on accident). He was very interested in his cake and of course anything he touches goes in his mouth so he got a small taste of icing and didn't seem to mind it to much. If you look closely you can see the icing on Landry's mouth.

My little duck! Ever since he was born he has had his daddy's hair and it likes to wave at everyone. Everywhere we go everyone says "awww look at all his hair-it looks like little duck fuzz!" So for Halloween what better costume for Landry than for him to be a DUCK!?? Here he is all dressed up at Trunk or Treat at church Sunday night....and I might just add that Landry stole the show and was told several times that he won the best costume award! My little fuzzy duck is so cute!!

Uncle Nathan and Aunt Baleigh own their own dental practice in Pulaski. The chamber of commerce holds a chili supper every year on the square and allows the business of pulaski to come and support the county and people come pay $7 for a bowl and go around to all the businesses and let them eat all the chili they want. Not to be biased or anything but my daddy makes the BEST chili I have ever tasted!! He has always our chili chef in the family and was the chef for this even as well. This was Landry's second year to go b/c last year I was pregnant with him so he was actually able to enjoy it this year. He was a good mascot for "Owens Family and Cosmetic Dentistry." Here are just a few pictures of Landry supporting uncle Nat and Aunt Baleigh.

There is so much more I want to blog about and include what Landry is doing now at 8 months old but I will have to do it another day- this blogging is hard work and takes a lot of time! :)

Growing way to fast!!

We have had a very busy last few weeks. I thought Landry's hair and face in this picture demonstrated how all 3 of us lately- CRAZY! It was taken right after he had gotten up from a nap-he must have been sleeping good :)
We are so blessed and lucky that our house has sold so we are in the process of getting our house packed up and moved all within 3 weeks. This has been a little more challenging than I thought it would be. Landry is now "army crawling" and is in to everything. So I now have to be very cautious and paranoid as to what is in the floor while he is playing. And with a 8 pound dog that likes her toys all over the floor this can get interesting. It never fails- Landry has a whole basket full of toys just for him and Sadie has a whole basket full of toys just for her and low and behold they want each other's toys! So I am constantly the refree between them b/c I cannot stand Landry chewing on Sadie's toys (gag me!!) So not only is he now crawling and in to everything but we have also begun the seperation anxiety stage. Although I do have to say it's just when I leave him in the room by himself and not when I leave him with other people. So packing up a house can be challenging when you can't leave the room without him crying like he has just been mistreated or wondering if he is chewing on Sadie's toys or his own. :) But I'm not complaining b/c I am sooo happy our house sold and we are blessed to be moving into a house we will be staying in for many many years and raising all our children in. He is also pulling up on things now. Crazy right?? I told you we have been busy! haha! I walked out to the room came back and he has pulled up on his bouncy seat. I grabbed my camera and was able to take several pictures of this milestone for him. (This is why I love staying at home with my baby-I would have missed this if I had been working- I am very blessed by God with a wonderful hard-working husband who wants me and allow me to stay home with Landry.

I finally got a good shot of Landry's tooth as it was coming in but since I have take this it has come in even more and you really don't have to "look" to find it anymore so this picture is very dated. But this was the first picture I ever got of it and yes poor thing I had to take it while he was crying b/c that was the only way I could see it.

Last week Landry had his first play date. Abby is a real good friend of mine and has been for 3 years now. She has a little girl named Clara who will be 2 in December. We were finally able to get a play date for our kids. Landry was very interested in Clara and all her pink and purple toys but Clara was much more interested in Landry and wanted him to do everything she did- even sit in her suit case with her. (So cute) So we had a great day with them and are looking foward to getting them together again and watching them grow up together.

So as if I don't have enough on my plate right now I have decided to make Landry's baby food. I have wanted to do this since he was born so I finally went to Whole Foods bought $60 worth of organic fresh produce I came home spent a whole afternoon cooking it. But I am not going to take it personal that he isn't too crazy about my cooking and that he gagged every time he took a bite. He is actually eating it better now- I am thinking he had to get used to the new texture? But he is at least eating it now. Here is a picture of my frist round of food I have made for him. I still have to make some green vegetables for him.

Can someone please tell me where the past 7 months have gone?? I really can't believe Landry is already 7 months old. He is doing so many fun things now and is getting more and more active every day. We took his 7 month old picture in a highchair that my dad refurbished for Landry. Amber and I actully used this highchair when we were a baby but it has gotten in pretty bad shape. So being the handy man and wonderful painter my dad is he took it and fixed it up, stripped it and restained it to match our kitchen table. I LOVE it and it looks great in our kitchen but Landry REALLY LOVES it. He feels like a big boy sitting in it-as he should. So sweet!!
Here are just a few special things that he is now doing at 7 months that I will want to remember one day:
*says "mmmmm" with just about every bite he takes of his rice cereal & applesauce
*he will wrap his arms aound my neck when I pick him up-it really feels like he is hugging me back now
*gives me kisses now all over my face
* loves to play with my earrings and necklaces
*army crawling everywhere
*seems to like sadie's toys better than his
*has his first tooth
*pulling up on our legs and bouncy seat
*got first boo boo
*cosses his ankles a lot when eating or when laying in the floor
*speaking "whale" and russian now
*Loves his walker
*seperation anxiety has increased
*Lots and Lots of blond fuzzy hair
*Getting longer eyelashes just like his daddy (just a side note-why do boys always get the long lashes??)
*Plays peek a boo with blanket

*Loves riding on his daddy's shoulders (he thinks it is so funny to be so high)

Lesson Learned!!

So the other day I decided to let Landry play on his play area with his diaper off for a while b/c that poor diaper has to get annoying and he had just woken up from a nap. Well I learned my lesson.....never let you baby run around naked unless he has recently pooped. Yeah I know he will kill me on day for putting this on here! :)

Week of Happiness!

There have been several wonderful events that have occured this week. For starters Martha had her baby boy Wyatt David on Saturday September 26th. We are so glad he is finally here and both Martha and the baby are doing well. We are very happy for them and can't wait to meet the little guy!

We have wonderful news ourselves as well OUR HOUSE SOLD!!! YAY! We are so excited about this! Now we can officially pack up and start moving into our new home! It was only on the market for 60 days! We truely feel this is an answered prayer so thank you all for praying for us and heling make this possible!! Plus I do have to say we had a wonderful real estate agent that helped out tremendously!! Thanks mother for all your hard work!! We close on October 15th so we have a lot to get done in 2 weeks and with a 7 month old that is now crawling (yes i said crawling) this is going to be a busy next few weeks but I am not complaining at all b/c our house is SOLD! :) Now on to talk about Landry crawling. WHEW!! So long are the days of putting him on one spot on the floor-going into the kitchen to get something and coming back and him still be sitting there. He is on the move people!! So far he is still doing the "army crawl" but don't let him fool you- that little booger can move pretty fast and get wherever he wants to go with no problem. And not only is he crawling but he also has his very first TOOTH! 2 days before his 7 month old birthday on pooped on through! We had given him his first teething biscuit the night before so it must have really helped that tooth just to pop on out. And yes all these changes occured in 1 week!! It was a great week and we are truely blessed by God by the birth of Wyatt, our house selling, Landry crawling and his very first tooth-Praise HIM!
