As I'm sure all of you know our second precious baby boy entered the world on Sept 22 2011 at 12:17pm. Here is the breakdown of his arrival:
I had been having very regular contractions for a month and a half with no progress. To say I was ready for him to be here was an understatement. So when I went to the doctor for my 38 week check up and he told me I was still dilated at a 2(which I had been at for 3 weeks) I was very disappointed. I just knew I would be a 5 or 6 with how strong my contractions were. So we decided to go ahead and be induced and I picked the day Sept 22 b/c it was a Thursday and I would be able to have Austin home with me all weekend after his birth. On Thursday we arrived at the hospital at 5am. They were very busy in the labor and delivery department so they told me to go to my room that had been assigned to me and they would get to me as soon as they could. At 6am Dr Pelletier came in and broke my water and so the contraction continued(remember I had been having them for over a month). He pretty much told me before he left the room that he would be surprised if I were able to have a normal delivery-he though I would probably need a C-section b/c he was still very high. The nurse came in at 8 and got my IV and pitocin started to speed up the process and checked me. I was still at 2 cm and boy was I in pain already. I requested my epidural as soon as possible. So at 9 am I got my epidural. At 10am I was at 5cm when the nurse checked me. When the nurse came back in at 1130 she just wanted to check me one more time before they turned my pitocin up and the look on the nurses face said it all. I was at a complete 10 and he was already in the birth canal about to come out. She asked me to do one practice push just to be sure he was going to come on down ok and in the middle of my push she says "ohhh ok..ok..that's good-don't push anymore! Lets get Dr pelletier on the phone and tell him we are ready for him." Finally-our baby boy was ready to come into this world and we were all ready to meet him. I pushed twice when the dr got there and he was here! He was perfect and beautiful and a miracle from God. Landry got to meet his baby brother as soon as he got out of school and he was so excited. He has been so good and sweet to his brother and loves on him all the time. Life has been so good and busy since we brought him home. I love my boys more than anything and I give God all the glory for these two amazing blessings!
I still have so much to catch up on since he's been here but slowly I will get there..just be patient with me I am still learning how to care for two sweet boys. :)
