Worn Out!

I have a lot to blog about so this post may be a little choppy b/c I have so much to catch up on. I guess I'll start with My paretns were able to go on a 30th anniversary trip of a lifetime! They went on a 13 day cruise tour of Alaska. They cruised for 7 days to different parts of Alaska and then tour land for 6 days. They said it was absolutley amazing and told me to start saving my money to go one day. After seeing their pictures this place is definitely on my wish list of places to go eventually. They took several BIG pictures of Landry and put them on their mirror in their room. They really missed Landry and this was the longest they had ever gone without seeing him- and I don't blame them I would miss him to if I were gone for 13 days. We picked them up from the airport when they got back in town and my dad had gotten him a nice hat with hair and Landry had a sign for them so we took a picture of them.

Ok so we went of our first family vacation this past week to Gulf Shores Alabama and while it was a lot of fun it was also very different and now I know why the doctor told me at Landry's last appointment that our beach vacations would never be the same. We had a ton of fun but I feel like I worked more on this vacation than I do when I stay at home. It's a lot of work to get me ready, landry ready, sunscreen put on both of us, the float blowed up, tent put up on the beach for Landry to sleep in(yeah right what was I thinking??), sunglasses on, hat on his head, umbrella covering us from the sun and I would do all of this for us to stay on the beach for maybe an hour- two at most. So needless to say me, Landry and Austin are more worn out after our vacation than before we left. haha! It has taken Landry a good 2 days to recover from the late nights and nonstop fun though! Thankfully he is in a much better mood today! Since Landry isn't a fan of his carseat we decided to leave at night so he would sleep through most of the ride. So we left at 6:00 after Austin got off work last Monday. This couldn't have worked out better on our way down there. He pretty much slept the whole ride except for the last 30 minutes. Whew! That was a relief. However on the way back he decided he was going to scream the first 2 hours and then sleep the rest of the way. Overall I have to say he did great and it could have been a lot worse! We were there the first 3 days by ourselves and then reinforcements- the rest of my family-came in on late wednesday- so it was nice to have some extra hands and help the rest of the week. Landry loved the beach! He was very facinated by the texture and the sound of the waves but just didn't want that water touching him-which I am very suprised of b/c he loves bath time and loves swimming-I think the water was a little too cold for him and scared him. I think it scared him b/c it would come up on him so fast- he would scream the second it would touch him and then stop the minute it would go away. I have to say it was pretty cute!! We took his 23 week old picture the first time his toes have ever hit the sand. I am really looking foward to all our family vacations in the future and know that this was the first of many!

On another note we are still in the process of trying to sell our house! We took Landry's 22 week old picture with him in front of the "for sale sign" in our front yard. Thankfully our house has been shown 4 times in 2 weeks but we are still waiting on someone to bite on it! Please just keep us in your prayers that our house will sell fast!

Milestone: Landry is rolling around everywere! About 10 days after he rolled from his stomach to his back he began rolling from his back to his stomach. I was really suprised at how fast he began doing this. But once he figured out he could roll from his stomach to his back it was like he had the mentality that nothing was going to stop him now and he immediately began rolling like crazy. I have to say we have a very strong willed little boy- but as my mother keeps telling me "The apple doesnt fall far from the tree" and in Landry's case he got a double dose I'm afraid of! This could be a very good character trait as long as we contain it though! :) haha!

  1. Glad you survived the vacation! It certainly changes once kids arrive on the scene. It will get easier as he gets older though! Loved all the pictures--especially the one of Austin holding Landry up in the air on the beach. We are praying for your house situation. Miss you!
